Day 1: Dindigul to Theni & Base Camp Arrival
Time Activity Description
Morning (9:00 AM) Group Pickup from Dindigul Start your journey with a comfortable pickup in the AC 40-seater bus.
9:00 AM – 10:30 AM Dindigul to Theni Drive Smooth highway journey (approx. 74 km).
10:30 AM – 12:00 PM Theni Sightseeing & Rest Break Group visit to Vaigai Dam or a suitable spiritual stop like the Veerapandi Gowmariamman Temple.
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Lunch Break in Theni/Chinnamanur Enjoy a pre-arranged group lunch. Chinnamanur is the final plains town and the base for the hill ascent.
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Transfer Point (Chinnamanur/Lower Hills) Crucial Step: The 40-seater bus will stop here. The group and luggage will transfer into pre-arranged 4×4 Jeeps or multiple Tempo Travellers for the climb. Rengha Travels will manage this transfer.
2:00 PM – 4:30 PM Ascent to Megamalai (Jeep/TT) The final, bumpy 50-60 km ghat road. The smaller, high-clearance vehicles are necessary for safety and efficient travel on the narrow path.
4:30 PM – 5:30 PM Check-in at Megamalai Check into your pre-booked group accommodation.
5:30 PM – 7:00 PM Evening Sightseeing (Local) The smaller vehicle(s) can be used to visit the nearby Megamalai Viewpoint for the sunset.
7:00 PM onwards Group Leisure & Overnight Stay Relax and enjoy group dinner at the accommodation.
📅 Day 2: Megamalai Exploration & Descent to Dindigul
Time Activity Description
Morning (7:00 AM) Core Sightseeing (Small Vehicles) Use the pre-arranged local vehicles to visit Highwavys Dam and Manalar Dam/Lake (these sites require navigating internal estate roads unsuitable for a large bus).
8:30 AM – 9:30 AM Breakfast & Check-out Group breakfast followed by check-out.
9:30 AM – 12:00 PM Descent to Chinnamanur Drive back down the ghat road via Jeeps/Tempo Travellers to the transfer point (Chinnamanur).
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Transfer back to 40-Seater Bus Reboard the large AC 40-seater bus at the base camp/Chinnamanur.
1:00 PM – 2:30 PM Lunch & Theni Area Sightseeing Stop for group lunch. Optionally visit Chinna Suruli Falls (seasonal) or the Cumbum Valley Grape Gardens if time allows and the bus can park easily.
2:30 PM – 5:00 PM Final Drive to Dindigul Comfortable, final highway stretch in the spacious 40-seater bus.
