Day Schedule Destination & Activities
Day 1: Arrival in Theni & Local Sights Morning: Depart from Sivakasi to Theni (Approx. 85 km / 1.5 – 2 hours). Check-in to your reserved hotel/resort in Theni.
Afternoon: After lunch, visit Vaigai Dam, a picturesque spot great for relaxing by the water. Continue to Sothuparai Dam, a smaller, more serene dam nestled in the foothills.
Evening: Explore the local Theni market or enjoy the amenities at your hotel. Prepare for an early start for the Meghamalai trip.
Day 2: Meghamalai Excursion Morning: Early departure from Theni to Meghamalai (Approx. 80-90 km / 3.5 – 4 hours one-way). The drive will take you through Chinnamanur and up the winding ghat road, offering breathtaking views of the plains.
Daytime: Explore the “High Wavy Mountains.” Visit the numerous Tea and Cardamom Plantations. Drive to the Manalar Dam and Iravangalar Dam viewpoints for stunning valley panoramas. If possible, proceed to the Upper Manalar Viewpoint for the best scenery.
Evening: Begin the return journey back to Theni. The road can be challenging in the dark, so an early descent is highly recommended.
Day 3: Farewell Theni & Return to Sivakasi Morning: Check-out from your accommodation. Visit Kumbakarai Falls (check with your tour provider for its current water level and accessibility). This is a beautiful cascade at the foot of the Kodaikanal Hills.
Late Morning/Lunch: Enjoy a final meal in Theni.
